Bumi Armada’s Merdeka Raya Celebration

On the 5th of August 2016, Bumi Armada held their Merdeka Raya Open House and it was indeed a festive occasion. What made this Open House so special was that it was a celebration of two prominent days in the Malaysian Calendar – Merdeka (Independence day) and Hari Raya Aidilfitri (celebration at the end of Ramadan). The event was well attended with over 350 guests including two orphanage homes; Rumah Kebajikan Nurul Hasanah and Rumah Kebajikan Nur Hidayah KL, which both held performances supported by an enthusiastically cheering crowd.

The event was indeed a special occasion as it was graced by Chairman YAM Tunku Ali Redhauddin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz who made time from his hectic schedule to attend this celebration and giving a heart-warming speech on what Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Merdeka meant to him.

The CEO, Leon Harland attended the occasion dressed to impress in Baju Melayu (traditional Malay costume). It was a beautiful event with a lot of singing and dancing with Bumi Armada’s in house band belting out popular Malay tunes. Awards were given for best dressed male and female categories which were well spread across departments. The celebration ended with a patriotic Merdeka song where our Chairman, CEO, Management Team and employees all banded together in unison to sing it.

All in all, it was a great celebration and one filled with harmony as all gathered together as one Bumi Armada.
